   THE FIRE BLOCK

Squad 252 responded to fill out the 2nd source for Box 0832, 36 Weirfield Street, Broadway to Bushwick Ave.  There was initially some confusion regarding the reported address.  The calling party was looking from the rear of their building on Weirfield reporting a fire on the next block.  The actual address of the fire was 999 Halsey Street, Bushwick to Broadway.  A 10-75 was transmitted for fire on the first floor of a three story frame.  Squad 252 assisted the first due engine in getting the first line into operation.  As they began to operate a report was given advising fire in the Exposure 4 building.  A 2nd Alarm was transmitted as a second line was stretched into this building.  With fire extending to the top floor of the original fire building the incident commander ordered members of Squad 252 to stretch a third line into the fire building.  At the height of the fire a 3rd Alarm was transmitted due to fire found in three buildings.
