Squad Company 252 was special called to Box 2220, 1630 E 102 St, off of the Belt Parkway, for a fire in a fireproof multiple dwelling.  First due companies had their hands full as this was an 8 story, hand-stretch building (no standpipe), and weather conditions were punishing.  As they arrived, command put members of the Squad to work to assist with searches on the fire floor and floors above.  Unfortunately, one victim had already succumbed to her injuries and was removed from the fire apartment by the first due truck.  The fire was located on the 5th floor.  Searches in the hallway, stairs, and upper floors were negative.
