Seven minutes into the night tour Box 0804, reported on Madison Street between Ridgewood Place and Irving Ave, was received for a fire with children possibly trapped. Squad 252 was assigned as the second due engine. Upon their arrival, Engine 277 (first due) transmitted the 10-75 for heavy fire on the top floor of a three story frame. 277 and 252 worked to get the first line into operation as ladder companies 112 and 124 initiated the searches. Heavy fire was venting from the "deadman's" room and center room on the top floor. The fire was quickly knocked down and primary searches were negative. The fire was contained to the original fire building.
