Squad 252 responded as the first due engine to box 0816, 131 Moffat Street, Evergreen Ave to Central Ave, for a reported fire on the 3rd floor. Upon arrival members found a light smoke condition issuing from the top floor windows of a two story brownstone type frame. After further investigation a fire was found in one room on the 2/3 corner of the building. The fire self-vented via two windows in the rear as 252 stretched a line and Ladder Company 176 began primary searches. The fire was quickly knocked down and kept to the room of origin. Occupants self evacuated prior to the fire departments arrival. All other searches proved negative.
